About Safety Performance Solutions

Our History

SPS began in 1995 when Dr. E. Scott Geller, an Alumni Distinguished Professor at Virginia Tech and the worlds’ leading authority on the psychology of safety, teamed with members of Virginia Tech's Center for Organizational Performance Improvement (The Performance Center), an outreach arm of the university located in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering to form SPS. Since then we have worked with organizations across all types of industries across the U.S. and around the world.

What We Do

Safety Performance Solutions (SPS) is an internationally recognized training and consulting group specializing in behavior-and people-based safety, safety culture assessment and transformation, leadership development, and safety management systems across all types of organizations.

We are wholly dedicated to helping organizations understand and manage the complexity of human dynamics in order to reduce workplace injuries. Our strength is helping organizations develop a Total Safety Culture, where employees not only care, but Actively Care for the safety and health of all of their co-workers.
